Halloween!

This year Parker had so much fun at Halloween. Prior to going trick or treating we went to Grandpa Dan's work where they have a Halloween parade and the kids go through the clinic and collect candy. By the end of the parade Parker was a pro on taking candy and putting it in his bucket. For Halloween we spent the night at my moms for a gathering of friends and family. Parker went trick or treating with his Daddy and Uncle Elliot and the rest of us congregated in front of the TV for the Duck game (Yahoo...Ducks creamed USC)! Overall it was a great night had by all!!

Pumpkin Carving!

This year Dennis and Parker carved one of our three pumpkins. We decided only do one since we were going to my moms for Halloween night and keep the other two for fall decoration on the porch. Parker had a great time cleaning out the pumpkin and Dennis did a great job carving it.

Haunted Graveyard!

We live fairly close to the Davis Graveyard. Which is a house this couple completely turn into a unbelievable site. If you have never been you need to go. It is very cool. For the past few years we have gathered friends and family to enjoy some treats and then walk to the graveyard. This year we did the same. Thinking it was going to rain it ended up being a beautiful night. In fact we didn't even need coats. My favorite part was the surprise birthday cake from my BFF Moni!

Apple Festival

Every year we head to Hood River to gather yummy fresh apples from the orchards. This year we did the same and once again had a wonderful time watching Parker play. We came home with delicious apples and have been eating them everyday (they are so good)! I plan on making a pie and crisp sometime this week.

Turning 33!!

Isn't it funny the older you get the more unexciting your birthday's are. I turned 33 this year and I will have to say I love odd number years. I don't know why but I just do. Parker spent the night at my mom's and Dennis took me to a wonderful dinner with lots of drinks and then back home for a dip in the hot tub. The next day we meet my parents at The Old Spaghetti Factory (kid friendly) and a wonderful family birthday dinner. It was low key, but a great way to spend a birthday.

Pumpkin Patch

We headed to the pumpkin patch early in the month of October and were blessed with great weather. Parker had a blast and loved watching the cows the most. He found the perfect pumpkin and we are now getting ready to carve them this week.

Time Flies...

Where has the time gone and where have I been. Things have been crazy in the Coon house, but I think we are in a routine so I will be posting my often. My goal is once a week!

Happy 4th!

Some pictures from our Saturday at the 4th of July!

Dream Job!

This past Thursday I applied for my dream job. The deadline is this Wednesday and I am praying for an interview. I know if I can get an interview I can knock their socks off...they will love me! My dream job consists of teaching high school Social Studies at a neighboring district. David Douglas is one of the few districts in our state that is not being effected by the budget shortfalls, because they save their money (wow..theres a concept). I have also been contemplating teaching high school for awhile now, so this would be a dream come true! I truly feel that I am ready to make that leap from middle school to high school and am ready for new challenges. Everyone who reads this say a prayer for me and hope I get that interview:)

Six Wonderful Years and Counting!

This year Dennis and I celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary. It is so hard to imagine it has been six years already. It seems like yesterday we were saying our vows in front of our family and friends. Nevertheless, we decided to stay close (with Parker and all we didn't want to go to far away) and headed to the Grand Lodge in Forest Grove. I never thought I could have had such fun at an McMenamins...I truly felt that we away on a big trip and not so close to home. It was a wonderful, much needed short getaway that I would recommend to anyone! I also rediscovered just how good "Ruby" is, I have missed that beer and could not get enough of it. I guess I will have to visit more McMenamins this summer so I can get my fix. There is nothing like a good "Ruby" on a hot day!

Where Have I Been???

Things have been crazier than crazy and I have gone MIA. Once things calm down and summer begins I will post with all of what has been going on in the Coon household. Some good and some bad, but it just how you look at and decide to deal with it. So until another week and then I promise to return consistently:)

Silly Man!

After Parker's party we wanted to play with all of his new toys. He insisted on wearing his new hat while he played....It is just too cute not to post:)

Parker's 1st Birthday!!!

Wow!!! I can't believe it has been a year since Parker was born. He celebrated his birthday a week ago with lots of family and friends. He was the hit and had a blast entertaining all of his guests. Posted are some pics from his fun day!

Work Stress...

So this past year work has been very stressful. Our school district had to cut nine days due to mismanagement of funds, so that meant nine days of no pay for everyone. On top of that now the state is cutting funds for the next years budget. So every districts budget for the next year is up in the air with lots of not knowing. To top everything off I am working with a particular teaching who is completely incapable of doing her job. She constantly has fights break out in her room, has students cussing her out, sends students to other teachers rooms (almost daily) and just recently cussed her class out by using the F*** bomb and when confronted by the administration about it, said she was glad she did. WTF!!!! People like this drive me crazy in this profession, I take my job very seriously and set high expectations for my students and when other teachers do this it makes the rest of us look like fools. Teachers like this are the ones that give this profession a bad name and I am so sick of it. People need to know that this job is not for everyone and if you can't figure it out in six years time to pack the bags and move on. Just be glad your child is not in this class, I know I would never allow Parker to be in a class like this. Heaven knows what kind of learning is happening. I would like to say that there is only a few bad seeds such as this teacher in my building and I am so thankful for all of the other teachers I work who do a fantastic job! Kudos to you:)

PS...If your a parent please be sure to get involved in your child's education. Because of you teachers like this would definitely not be around. Let your voice be heard and take action against the bad seeds out there who are educating your children and let the good ones know how much you appreciate them.

It's been way to long....

I can't believe that my last post was in January. I guess time flies when you are busy. February was a busy month for the Coon household. We celebrated Valentines day with our usual Papa Murphy's heart shape pizza and St. Cupcakes. Then three days later we celebrated Dennis's Birthday. Ten days from that we celebrated Parker's first birthday. Wow! February has turned into a busy month.
Other than that we have all been in good health and trying to get out whenever the weather cooperates.

Here are some random pics of our holiday!
